Ethiopian hiring is changing faster than most job boards admit. Candidates compare roles across channels, ask about salary before the first call, and expect a response even when the answer is no.

## Start with the salary

If you cannot publish a number, publish a range and explain what moves someone inside it. Roles with visible pay receive materially more applications — and better ones. A range also saves your team from three rounds of conversations that end at the offer stage.

## Treat the process as part of the product

The strongest employers we see do four things well:

- They say who the role reports to and what success looks like in six months.
- They keep the process to three steps or fewer.
- They tell every candidate where they stand.
- They close the loop, even for a rejection.

None of this requires a bigger budget. It requires deciding that candidate experience matters.

## Local context is not a footnote

A role in Addis Ababa is not the same as a remote role in Berlin. Working hours, transport, internet reliability and family obligations shape who can say yes. Write the real constraints into the post instead of discovering them at the offer stage.

> Good hiring is a clear promise, kept.

MellaWork reviews every employer before publishing. That is not bureaucracy; it is the minimum needed to make a job board worth reading.
